Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and visionary Executive Chef to head our culinary operations. The successful candidate will not only excel in culinary creativity but also demonstrate strong management and leadership skills to oversee kitchen operations, source and develop the right talent, and continuously elevate our food & beverage standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring consistency in quality, taste, and presentation.
- Develop innovative menus featuring both Sri Lankan specialties and international cuisine.
- Source, recruit, train, and retain skilled culinary staff for the division.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the team while maintaining high morale and productivity.
- Enforce hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Manage food cost control, budgeting, and overall kitchen profitability.
- Oversee procurement, supplier coordination, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with the management team to enhance guest dining experiences.
- Provide hands-on support during special functions and high-volume service periods.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive culinary experience, with at least 5 years in an Executive Chef / Head Chef role in a star-class hotel.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate large kitchen teams effectively.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to build and retain a talented team.
- Experience in multi-outlet operations (restaurants, in-room dining, functions).
- Expertise in menu engineering, cost control, and kitchen administration.
- Creativity and flair in both Sri Lankan and international cuisine.
- Age below 50 years preferred.
- International hotel or resort chain experience will be an advantage.
